Full Motorola Droid X Overview

Please note that a more comprehensive review can be found on the Droid X vs Incredible website. It is impossible right now to find a smartphone bigger than Droid X and its 5 inch tall stature. It boasts a 4.3 inches screen and a 854×480 resolution, exactly the same as the EVO 4G. It is a know fact that the iPhone 4 is actually on top when it comes to pixel density, however Droid X has such a large screen that it compensates a lot for a few missing pixels.

Motorola also went bigger by including an 8-megapixel camera along with dual LED flash that can take reasonably clean photos and also records video in 720p. Motorola incorporated DLNA as well as HDMI support for the purpose of streaming media to your high-def TV or any other device.

The 1GHz TI OMAP is the processor found inside the Motorola Droid X, a processor so fast that it maximizes the good quality of user experience. Also impressive is the memory available. The Droid X comes with 24GB of internal storage: 8GB on board and a 16GB removable micro SD card.

A big difference with the first Droid is that Motorola decided not to include a physical keyboard to this phone. This was a sensible choice for the reason that even though the telephone is massive, it’s somewhat slim compared to its overall size. A physical keyboard would have very likely made a device currently difficult to stuff into a pocket actually more difficult. Still, using the larger screen, the on-screen key pad is simple to type with and Motorola thoughtfully integrated a Swype keyboard for individuals who are not happy with the Droid keyboard supplied.

You don’t have access to the internet on your laptop? No problem! You can use your Droid X as a 3G hotspot to get a connection to the web from your other wireless devices. Connecting these devices is quick and, depending on your connection, nets decent enough speeds.

There are so many smartphones that look very good on the cover but don’t deliver when it comes to technical functionnalities. Droid X is a very fantastic all-around phone and you can be sure you won’t be disappointed.
